Jehovah's witness meetings are NOT BORING......

...i was told but they usually were as i look back.. as a lad i'd sit and look to see who the lights would fall on.

i'd get an almond and see how long i could suck it before i chewed at it.

i'd imagine playing rock'n'roll on the congregation's piano.. how did you get through the meetings when you were bored?.

One brave individual dared to mention that he thought the meetings were boring to one of the elders and was immediately shot down with ..............."we are not here to be entertained".

A question for JW apologists(or anyone else)

a jw will always rationalize the errors of wt leaders by arguing that they are simply imperfect men, who have never claimed to be spirit-directed.

let's assume, for argument's sake, that that's true, that they've never made such claims.

the question then becomes, "why aren't they?"..

Radio Show About JWs - anyone have advice?

i'm scheduled to appear on atheists talk radio show this sunday (i'll have to miss the public talk, though).. here's a link about it: radio program.. does anyone have any advice for me?

or - do you have anything you think i really need to mention?

(like new light or some recent crazy statement in the tower.).

The first few Thursdays I attended back in the early 80s there was a spate of announcements for disfellowshipping. Even after I had it explained how it was for their own good and it was their own fault and a kindness etc. etc. it made me feel so bad inside I wanted to be physically sick.

I was told I was wrong to feel this way and my feelings needed to be adjusted to Jehovah's viewpoint and then I would see disfellowshipping as a loving arrangement. I shut up. Guilt and fear.

The two witness rule on paedophilia is pretty disgusting too.

do you remember this bible?.

do you recall the maps on the inside covers?

When I got bored I counted the legs and feet of the men in the song book. There was an extra leg that didn't belong to anyone, as I recall.

The difficult part was deciding which of the legs was the superfluous one.

so any of yall going to be in brooklyn, queens, jersey city or oklahoma city this weekend?

maybe brooklyn, queens, jersey city, portland (or & me), green bay, west palm beach, sacramento, long beach, bakersfield or san diego weekend of 5/27.

I am so angry.

I only had it pointed out to me very recently that with JWs you have to "earn" salvation.

Now I see you have to "qualify" as well.

I feel like banging myself over the head with a tin tray.
